Preschool Shared Services

ABOUT

The SRECC (Southern Region Early Childhood Collaborative) is a Preschool Expansion Consultant & Preschool Instructional Coach Staffing-Shared Service developed to help districts establish a standard of excellence for a high-quality preschool.  The Collaborative is comprised of school districts, a program consultant, and preschool instructional coaches and preschool intervention and referral specialist.  The Collaborative’s mission is to share in the development, implementation, monitoring, and expense of a high-quality early learning program.

 

CONSULTATION

Members of the Collaborative will receive consultation, guidance, and support from a program consultant with 20 years experience in early childhood education including teacher, master teacher, and director.  Consultation services will include a needs analysis used to develop a customized comprehensive consultation plan.  A variety of preschool program areas may be included in the consultation plan such as program and budget development/updates, program structure, use of classroom quality assessments, NJDOE compliance prep/reporting, data analysis, professional development, positive behavior support, oversight of PIRS process, support with roles of PIC, PIRS, CPIS, preschool best practices, P-3 transition, and support with inclusion.

 

 STAFFING

A preschool instructional coach (PIC) and/or preschool intervention and referral specialist (PIRS) will be provided to those districts in need.  The PIC and PIRS will be employed by the Commission and supervised/evaluated by the program consultant.  The PIC and PIRS will visit classrooms and coach teachers using the reflective cycle practices to improve instruction.   The PIC will administer classroom quality assessments including ECERS-3 and Curriculum fidelity tools to plan and implement professional development and provide individual support to teachers. The PIRS will utilize the pyramid model practices and TPOT assessment to support teachers with promoting social and emotional learning in the classroom.
