The SRECC (Southern Region Early Childhood Collaborative) is a Preschool Expansion Consultant & Master Teacher Staffing-Shared Service developed to help districts establish a standard of excellence for a high-quality preschool.  The Collaborative is comprised of school districts, a program consultant, and a master teacher.  The Collaborative’s mission is to share in the development, implementation, monitoring, and expense of a high-quality early learning program.

Members of the Collaborative will receive consultation, guidance, and support from a program consultant with 20 years experiences in early childhood education including teacher, master teacher, and director.  Consultation services will include a needs analysis used to develop a customized comprehensive consultation plan.  A variety of preschool program areas may be included in the consultation plan such as program and budget development/updates, use of classroom quality assessments, NJDOE grant compliance prep/reporting, data analysis, professional development, positive behavior support, oversight of PIRT process, P-3 transition, and support with inclusion.

A shared master teacher will be provided to those districts in need.  The master teacher will be employed by the Commission and supervised/evaluated by the program consultant.  The master teacher will visit classrooms and coach teachers using the reflective cycle practices to improve instruction.   The master teacher will administer classroom quality assessments including ECERS3, Curriculum fidelity tools, TPOT, etc., to plan and implement trainings and provide individual support to teachers
