HOME INSTRUCTION
Home instruction is individual instruction given in lieu of regular classroom instruction to a pupil enrolled in a non-public school, but who is unable to attend school due to illness or injury.
To be eligible for home instruction, a student must be unable to attend school for a period of at least two weeks because of the injury or illness. The reason for the disability must be certified with a letter from the attending physician.
Instruction is provided at the home or other place of confinement for a minimum of five (5) hours per week, in not less than three (3) daily visits. A student may receive home instruction over a period of time up to sixty (60) calendar days in a school year. The duration of home instruction provided to a student may be extended beyond ixty (60) days if the child is classified by a Child Study Team and if the resulting Individual Service Plan indicates the need for home instruction.
