PROGRAM DESCRIPTION

9AM - 11AM Workshop

The emotional health of students is paramount to both academic and social success. This workshop provides an introduction to evidence-based strategies to help school communities foster emotional wellness, including techniques for both students and staff. The presentation will review a model of psychological flexibility, along with techniques to manage anxiety, mood issues, and behavioral difficulties in the classroom. Addressing students' increasing need for self-control, emotion regulation, and distress tolerance can improve the emotional climate of schools, supporting students to be more present and available for learning at any developmental level.

11AM - 12PM Panel Presentation

School districts often question how they can adequately address their students’ social and emotional needs, whether implementing preventative wellness strategies or providing evidence-based intervention techniques. Expert licensed psychologists, specializing in clinical and school-based mental health, will lead an open-forum, discussing best practices in addressing emotional wellness for children in their schools.
